Pipe/Tube Size: 0.188" - 2.000"

Wall Thickness: 0.125"

Drive Options: Air, 18V Cordless, Manual

The Model 550 Chipless Tube Cutting System is a compact machine tool for rapidly and reliably severing tubes. This system is flight required hardware for many tactical US military aircraft and is used in civilian flight system maintenance roles as well.

Repairing hydraulic line controls, which are located in confined, hard-to-reach places onboard certain aircraft, require service crew to disassemble sections of the wing and can result in lengthy and costly downtime.

Working with the USAF, Tri Tool designed the Model 550 Chipless Tube Cutter (CTC) kit to support a range of cutting heads that could rapidly and reliably sever tubing in extremely tight spaces.

Using a Purpose-Built custom tube cutter kit from Tri Tool, the USAF has been able to dramatically reduce the time and costs associated with repairing hydraulic line controls, helping ensure maximum fleet availability. This system is flight required hardware for many tactical U.S. military aircraft.

GCI Arms

Ergonomic lift assist manipulators

GCI Logo

Ensuring the safety of your operators is a top priority in GCI's ergonomic designs. They are proud of their capability to meet your material handling requirements with a mechanical lift-assist system. GCI's engineered part and material manipulator arm systems can handle capacities ranging from 30 lbs to an impressive 10,000 lbs. Allow GCI to handle the heavy lifting for you.

When properly applied, a mechanical lift-assist solution can enhance the safety of manual processes, lessen operator fatigue, and minimize the risk of damage to tools, products, and materials. Together, these advantages lead to more consistent and efficient operations.

Custom End-Effector for your Application Type
GCI engineers are capable of creating a tailored end-effector to suit your particular material handling needs. This end-effector generally fits into one of four primary categories based on the product: OD (outer diameter) gripper, ID (inner diameter) gripper, swing clamp, or vacuum gripper. Alternatively, a tool can be attached to the end of the arm.
Smart Arm Technology
GCI's specialized AdaptiCS® program can be integrated into your project for error-proofing almost any application. Smart arm technology is able to monitor the process to help provide additional safety and quality checks for more consistent performance.

Orbital Riveting-cropped2

Orbital & roller forming

logo

Orbital forming is a cold forming process using a peen tool held at a fixed angle to create a sweeping line of pressure around a rivet or tenon. This movement progressively collapses the rivet or tenon shank down onto the upper material with each rotation, permanently forming a rivet head in the process. Orbital forming creates a low profile, aesthetically appealing finish, and allows for joint articulation. The final rivet head form is determined by the type of peen.

Roller forming is a non-impact process using a spinning roller head, with two or more rollers, to apply a symmetrical downward force to form a part.

Articulating roller forming is used when forming a groove in a part or when there are obstructions to clear in order to form a lip. The articulating roller heads come in from the side to create the formed area. The 360-degree contact means consistent action for the entire time the part is being formed. These roller heads can deliver forming forces up to 5,000 lbs at 100 psi.

Static roller forming is often used to form an aesthetically pleasing lip around a cylindrical part. The non-impact nature combined with precision and accuracy makes it possible to form delicate and brittle materials. Static roller heads provide consistency and efficiency to your forming process.
